Our 60th Reunion was Special
I think our 60th was special in many ways. 150 people came from 14 different states.......California, Montana, Maine, Maryland, Florida, N. Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.
We had a great Reception Friday evening with about 75 people. It was very casual and relaxed.
Several classmates played golf Saturday morning, although it was a bit chilly compared to the weather we had been having. Ron McNabney set up the tee time and played along with Gene Dietz and Paul Abshire.
The evening started out with a bang when Kim (our daughter) took individual photos of everyone when they arrived, standing beside John Shaffer's gorgeous Hot Rod . Kim was wearing a poodle skirt and a 50s outfit.
As everyone came in, the women all received a white carnation. The classmates also received a mug with a photo of the school on it.
Before the meal, Dan Motto gave the invocation, which included an inspirational message concerning his health. After the meal, I talked about several things and thanked several classmates for their help. Tom Roush then said a nice prayer, remembering classmates that had passed away.
I thanked 22 classmates who came that had lost their spouses. It had to be very tough coming to our reunion without them.
Buddy Patterson once again was our DJ for the evening. Buddy never seems to get any older
Many of our classmates were having a tough time with their health. In spite of that, they still managed to come.
I thanked everyone for their overwhelming financial donations to our class. Many that donated were not able to attend. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
